Job Description

A Category Manager at Evatec develops and implements strategic sourcing strategies to achieve cost savings, efficiency, and risk mitigation. They conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align strategies with business objectives. They identify, evaluate, and select suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations. They manage contract renewals, resolve contract issues, track KPIs, and present reports to management, using data-driven insights to optimize strategies.

What you will be doing

  • check Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies for assigned categories to achieve cost savings, efficiency, and risk mitigation
  • check Conduct market analysis and identify new trends, opportunities, and risks within the category
  • check Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, finance, logistics) to align category strategies with broader business objectives
  • check Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on performance, quality, and cost
  • check Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms for the company
  • check Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards
  • check Manage contract renewals and amendments while ensuring optimal terms for the company
  • check Work with legal and compliance teams to resolve any contract-related issues
  • check Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supplier performance, cost savings, and category performance
  • check Prepare and present regular reports to management and other stakeholders at Evatec on category strategy, performance, and opportunities for improvement
  • check Use data-driven insights to refine and optimize category strategies

What you should bring

  • check Bachelor’s degree in SCM & Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics.
  • check Background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering, Strong understanding of supply chain processes, category management, and procurement best practices
  • check Proficient in SAP HANA / S4
  • check Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • check Fluent in English and German any further languages is an asset
