“Sustainability” refers to our commitment to protecting the environment and our planet, but it’s reach is much wider. As a company we care about all our stakeholders – our suppliers, our customers and our employees, and that means conducting our business in a sustainable way for the benefit of everyone.
Quality and continuous improvement are central to how we grow and serve our customers. Our production tools are modular, use fewer materials and support sustainable manufacturing with long service life and high reliability. At the same time we invest in a highly trained and motivated workforce that develops innovative production tools leading in their field. These tools help customers manufacture next-generation devices more sustainably by using fewer material resources, offering reliable performance, and providing modular designs that extend system lifetime.

Our Sustainability Strategy
Since Evatec’s foundation in 2004 the company has played an active role, with policies for conservation of resources in manufacturing by minimizing waste and emissions, improving energy efficiency of its products, and the reuse and recycling of materials and resources in the management of both our facilities and the construction of our products. Know-how development through improved process control hardware and software for more accurate layer thickness control or better film thickness uniformity and run to run repeatability has assisted customers in reducing the use of valuable consumables in daily use of Evatec products.
Driving Sustainability Across Products and Operations
At Evatec, we’re continuously improving sustainability in both our products and our operations. At our headquarters in Trübbach, we’ve launched targeted initiatives to reduce energy consumption, optimize system design and minimize the footprint of our equipment. Our production tools are becoming more compact and efficient, helping customers save resources and integrate systems more easily into their environments.
We’ve also strengthened our supply chains to meet higher environmental and social standards. With our new ERP system in place, we now manage sustainability data more effectively, allowing us to track progress and make informed decisions. These efforts reflect our commitment to responsible innovation and long-term impact.
Today’s Commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
Evatec AG commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2022 base year. Evatec AG also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 25% within the same timeframe.
Marketplace and Innovation
Delivering products that meet the highest quality standards is a core value at Evatec. Our thin film technologies support sustainable growth across the semiconductor value chain. Our systems improve energy and material efficiency in manufacturing and help customers meet rising demands for performance and sustainability.
We invest in long-term R&D, develop flexible software platforms and upgrade our tools to support new applications in electric mobility, LED lighting, high-performance computing and AI. Our capital allocation reflects this commitment, with funds directed toward innovation, decarbonization and talent development.

Environment
As a manufacturing company, and one that also operates its own equipment in a laboratory setting for the development of new processes, we are fully aware that our activities involve high energy consumption. We aim to keep energy usage as low as possible while maximizing the efficiency of our processes.
We are reducing our environmental footprint through smarter product design and facility upgrades. Our systems now include ECO modes and software features to cut standby energy use. We also participate in the EnAW Large Energy Consumers project and plan to grow our solar panel installations at our headquarters in Switzerland.
Resource Efficiency and Waste
We aim to keep waste volumes as low as possible and to recycle materials efficiently. We follow the well-established principle: avoid, reuse, and dispose of waste in an environmentally responsible manner.
