It was a great honour to be recruited as the second employee when Evatec first established its own Sales and Service Organization in China in 2017. I graduated from Shandong University majoring in Finance, and after a couple of other roles before joining Evatec I am now in charge of our office team. We are responsible for order processing, logistics, finance, HR, events and administration. I really admire the team work spirit and generally believe in the philosophy “ trust your buddies- if you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together.” When I am not working i like to relax with a book and a cup of tea. If you add a cake, it’s a fantastic weekend.
I started my apprenticeship at Evatec as a Mechanical Engineer back in 2017. It was a great way for me to begin my career and learn about the different platforms our company manufactures. Since 2021 I have been part of the CLUSTERLINE® 200 Engineering Team. We keep the machines up to date with design modifications and new components. I really like the variety in my job as well as the possibility to work in a great team. In my free time I love to produce music as a DJ. Perhaps we might meet when I’m performing at a local club or festival.
I am a Retrofit Manager within our customer service team responsible for upgrades and retrofits of the installed base. Daily tasks range from preparing specifications and quotations to project managing the manufacturing of retrofit kits then supporting our Sales & Service Organizations until the project is completed to our customer's satisfaction. Having completed my studies in systems engineering and worked as an Engineering Manager for 15 years I started at Evatec in 2021. I am a huge football fan and an active football referee but after a long working day I also enjoy poker - it’s a great game of skill and I love the challenge of beating my opponents.
I started working at Evatec in 2017 as a Project Leader within the Advanced Packaging Business Unit. Using my previous work experience helps me in my job making sure we deliver tools to customers on time and according to the demanding quality standards we set for ourselves.
The challenges of working in an international environment ensuring clear communication with everybody around the world to ensure projects run smoothly and on time is something which I really enjoy. Normally I’m busy travelling all over the world for work, but whilst that’s not possible right now, I do at least have more time to create new DIY videos for my Youtube channel which is a hobby when I am not working.
I am a materials scientist and part of the process team in our Advanced Packaging Business Unit. Our customers are always looking to the future so my main tasks are the development of new etch and deposition processes for continuous improvement of our production systems and components. It’s very satisfying to see what I have developed implemented at customers around the globe. Outside of Evatec I do voluntary work helping foreign nationals integrate when they arrive in my local community but then I enjoy relaxing with all the outdoor possibilities that the Rhine valley has to offer.

After lots of new job challenges since first joining the company as an "administrative assistant" I’m now celebrating my 25th anniversary at Evatec as BackOffice Manager. Our work in the BackOffice is hugely varied including responsibility for supporting our executive management, travel and expenses of the employees, and organization of various events. I love working with people so this is the perfect job for me and it's people who inspire me in my private life too. I've been involved in local theatre for many years and love spending my free time with family and friends.
I have been working in this industry for almost 25 years - with Balzers, BPS, Unaxis, Oerlikon and now Evatec. After completing my apprenticeship as a truck mechanic, I worked in various industries including transport, mechanical and metal construction before joining Balzers in 1995. I then started there as a mechanic, gaining several promotions to become group and team leader. I joined Evatec in 2015, and I am now Head of Assembly. My main tasks are to lead the assembly teams and ensure that all our systems are manufactured and tested to be ready on time for our customers.
I am a senior scientist with our multidisciplinary Solutions Design team working across all Evatec business units. We aim to give our customers the lead through continuous development of better manufacturing hardware and processes for their new device developments. In joining Evatec in 2010 I switched sides from using thin film deposition tools to manufacturing them and the day to day user perspective I brought with me certainly helps me in my job today. My work takes me on visits to customers, research partners and conferences around the world as I present our technology developments and learn from other experts in our field. Then when I’m home again there’s nothing I enjoy more than being outside in the swiss countryside with my family.
I am a Project Leader based at our headquarters in Switzerland. It’s a demanding role where I need to use all my people skills organizing and motivating people across many departments – from Product Lines, Supply Chain, Business Units and R&D to other external development partners. It's my job to ensure projects are completed on time and in budget. Our technology changes fast and sometimes that means last minute changes in our projects too so we all need to be flexible in our thinking. When not at work, I really love my exercise but even more than that I love to cook good food for family and friends.
I am a Mechanical Engineer for our CLUSTERLINE® 200. Before joining Evatec in 2020 I studied engineering and spent three months in the USA improving my English skills. As part of the PEALD/PECVD team I manly work on the development of our PEALD system. Developing and building a brand new module is exciting. We really have the freedom to think creatively about the best approach, gather knowledge and feed it back into development process until we have the best result for our customers. This kind of challenge is exactly what I like most about my job, but outside of my job I enjoy sports challenges too. Competing in local multidisciple athletics events I want to improve my personal best in long jump to achieve 7 metres.
I am one of the HR Managers at Evatec. Delivering the
best products and services to customers demands the
best people, so it’s crucial for our company to hire them,
get them off to a flying start in their work and invest
in developing their skills with long term training and
development. Right now our company is growing fast
so my main focus is recruitment of new employees for
our headquarters in Truebbach and I am very proud that
I can make a difference here. A typical day in the office
for me involves checking CV’s, organizing interviews
or trial work days, and finalizing work contracts. I
really like the variety in our business and our company.
Every day involves working with different people from
different countries having
many diverse cultural
backgrounds.
After training as an electrician I worked as a systems
technician for several years before graduating from the
technical college. I joined Evatec in 2016 and am now working
in systems engineering at our headquarters in Switzerland.
I develop and test hardware and software solutions on and
around our systems. However, my work doesn’t end once the
tool is delivered to our customer. Continuous improvement is
part of our company culture, so I am always working behind
the scenes on continuous adjustments and developments that
customers request to enhance performance or introduce new
capabilities they need in the future.
After a short internship where I came in contact with vacuum
systems for the first time I decided to make my bachelor
degree in system engineering with special focus on mechanical
engineering. I joined the company in 2017 after completing my
studies and these days I am a Process System Specialist in our
Evatec Competence Laboratory (ECL) where we help customers
develop the next generation of thin film processes.
Typically, my job involves preparing our sputter tools for
samplings by changing targets, magnet systems and any other
hardware required. If something on our lab tools does not work
as it should, it’s my job to find the cause and fix it quickly. Our
laboratory has to help many customers around the globe, so
we really need to avoid unexpected tool down situations. I love
being part of a team working on developments for the future
by taking care of our lab tools and making sure they are always
ready on time for customer sampling work.
I grew up in Japan but I have been living and working
in Switzerland for over 30 years now. As a Controller
at Evatec headquarters I work with all our financial
teams around the globe.
My main tasks are preparing financial reports for
the Board of Directors and the management team. It
probably goes without saying but I really like facts and
figures. Accuracy is all important in many aspects of my
work and our customers expect nothing less. I really
enjoy it when everything adds up correctly. I get lots of
job satisfaction too when the data, reports and forecasts
I provide keep our management informed and help
them make decisions and take any actions they need.
Working in this industry for over 25 years probably tells
you a lot about how much I like it.
I joined Evatec in 2022 but already knew Evatec technologies because of my previous experience as a PVD application manager. I studied Material Science and Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and then engaged in PVD related technical work for more than 10 years. Today I’m a Technical Marketing Manager in Evatec China (ECN). As a part of our sales force, my responsibility includes providing technical support to sales project and marketing promotions. In a typical week I spend 3 to 4 days on the road visiting customers and 1 or 2 days at our Shanghai office. I love the challenging work at Evatec. Every day I learn new things about the exciting technologies that we deliver to customers. When I am not working I enjoy my time with friends over an afternoon tea or visit the gym to keep fit.
After studying mechanical engineering at the University of Malaya and 16 years of work experience, I joined Evatec in 2016 where I am now the Head of Customer Service for the Southeast Asia (SEA) and Japan regions. Our team takes care of the equipment installation, FAT & troubleshooting at the customer’s site. We also support spare parts and retrofit sales activities. I regularly travel in the SEA region and Japan for customer visits as well as service team meetings. From time to time, I will meet my colleagues in our head quarter at Switzerland. I love the variety of challenges and the work flexibility at Evatec. Outside of work I am a basketball coach for primary school students, and I like to spend time hiking with friends.
I’m a sales Manager at Evatec China (ECN) and we are responsible for the market development and sales of Evatec products to the advanced packaging and semiconductor field. I studied marketing at university, then worked as a sales manager in the Solar and Semiconductor field for 6 years before joining Evatec at the end of 2017. As a front-line sales person, I often face urgent or special needs from customers that we have to solve in close cooperation with our headquarters. Besides work I like to play basketball, go cycling and running in my free time.
I joined Evatec Taiwan as an Application Engineer in 2017. Back then I had been working with production tools and supporting customers. However, since then I had the opportunity to develop within the company and today, I work as a Technical Marketing Manager. In this position I have the opportunity to work closer with all the departments and customers on system applications and improvements as well as understanding and identifying the underlying business opportunities. I love exchanging ideas among the team and provide solutions to our customers. In my spare time, I am a big football fan so I watch football games whenever I can, and I also enjoy playing badminton.
I joined Evatec in 2017 as a Customer Service Sales Manager and I am responsible for spare parts, service and retrofits in the South East Asia (SEA) region. I usually travel a lot in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam which is great because I love to travel and be in daily contact with clients. If I am not on the road, I am working in the office in Penang, Malaysia which is a beautiful island and offers a lot of nature where I can relax after a busy day at work while jogging or hiking.
I joined Evatec in May 2023 starting with an intensive two-month training course at our headquarters in Switzerland where I learnt about Evatec and their products. I originally studied physics at university, where my research focused on the properties of thin films in solar panels. After that, I worked as a sales engineer in vacuum technology for about 12 years. As a Sales Manager within Evatec Japan, my job is to help explain the benefits of our technology to our customers. Since my first day at the company I could feel the passion in our people for their work making it a thrilling experience. I am excited for what the future will bring.
I studied automation engineering at university and worked as an equipment engineer for several years before joining Evatec in 2017 where I am now the Head of Customer Service for our Taiwan Branch. I lead our service team and we provide on-site service and process developments to our Taiwan customers. Typically, I spend 2 or 3 days per week for customer visits. Customer Satisfaction is one of our main goals, but we also have to meet the interests of the company, so one of my biggest challenges is to constantly communicate with all stakeholders and find compromises. To relax outside of work, I like to go camping with my family and friends.

I have spent my entire career in sales and marketing of vacuum components and systems since I graduated from university. I joined Evatec as the Sales Manager for Photonics in North America in 2021. I manage our existing customers in the USA and focus on new business development. Hybrid working is great, whether it is time spent face to face time with colleagues in the Clearwater Florida office, working from my home or travelling on business. I love the interaction with customers. I particularly appreciate that I can bring in my own ideas and initiatives in my role helping them find the best production solutions for their different applications together with the rest of the Evatec team. Next to work I really like going on long bicycle rides with my friends or spend the time with my family.
I started my apprenticeship at Evatec as an automation technician back in 2013. Afterwards I went on with further studies for improving business processes while working in customer support, and now since 2021 I have been working as a Manager in our Assembly Department. I really enjoy this role with all its variety, managing personnel, ensuring assembly hall safety, and meeting equipment build deadlines. The supply chain challenges that we and other companies around the world face on a daily basis adds to excitement and satisfaction when we overcome them. Beyond work, I find joy in exploring the mountains through skiing, hiking, and climbing - the company even supported my professional skiing career during my original apprenticeship.
After nearly two decades in warehouse and shipping, I started a new adventure as a logistician at Evatec in October 2022. My days now revolve around receiving, checking and booking deliveries of goods, carrying out inventories and picking orders for our assembly and customers. Getting to know the logistical processes at Evatec was a challenge that I took on with curiosity and determination. Although Evatec is a large company, we have a family culture and a very pleasant working atmosphere, which I really appreciate. Outside of work, I enjoy quality time with my loved ones and going on short bike tours.
After completing my apprenticeship at Oerlikon Systems (a company acquired by Evatec in 2015) I studied business administration while working part-time as a back office assistant. After finishing my bachelor’s degree in 2018, I started working as a project leader special projects, which is still my role at Evatec today. Additionally, I am now completing my master’s degree in business psychology. Autonomy is a key aspect of my role — I enjoy organizing my work and projects. Collaborating with colleagues from various departments and countries is a major perk, and I stay updated on the latest software technologies due to Evatec's focus on innovation. Guiding colleagues through digital transformation has its challenges, as does balancing diverse interests within my projects. Outside of work, I am a passionate traveller and actively involved in a local cultural association.
After successfully completing my apprenticeship as an automation technician here at Evatec, I now work in the Operations team as a System Technician. My job is to check the tools we produce and set them up correctly. This involves checking the safety functions and optimize the system, collaborating closely with the project manager and the system engineers, and even fine-tuning hardware and software for peak productivity. I like the independence in my job. Most of the training I received while working with the tools was hands-on, there is a lot of learning by doing and a lot of self-discipline for self-education involved. Outside of work you’ll often find me at the Street Workout Park or simply relishing life's moments
I studied micro systems engineering at the university for applied science in Buchs. After working as an application engineer, process engineer, and serving as the Manager of Application Engineering in the BU Semi division, I was recently promoted to Head of Evatec Competence Laboratory (ECL). Now, my days are a delicate balancing act—coordinating resources, ensuring smooth operations, and meeting the needs of all stakeholders.
However, I thrive on the challenges and cutting-edge technology in the Semi Industry and being able to work in such a high-tech environment in Switzerland is amazing.
In my downtime, I indulge my inner nerd. Repairing electronic devices, troubleshooting, and performing delicate micro-soldering—it’s my passion. And once a week, I trade circuits for a squash racket, enjoying friendly matches with colleagues. Family time with my wife and kids adds the perfect balance to my tech-filled days.
“Within our team, we specialize in the development of advanced coating processes across the entire Evatec platform portfolio. Our focus is on tailoring these coatings for specialized applications in the semiconductors, photonics, and advanced packaging industries. Once developed and qualified, our team applies the production-ready processes to tools destined for our global customer base, supporting the ramp-up to high-volume manufacturing. My educational background includes both chemistry and physics, which led me to pursue a career in process engineering immediately after completing my PhD. Over the years at Evatec, I've had the privilege of taking on various roles within the company. What really appeals to me about working at Evatec is our unwavering commitment to technology and the incredible team I get to work with every day. Our diverse team members bring expertise from different fields and cultures around the globe, pooling our knowledge to drive forward the next generation of technology. Outside of work, I love being outdoors and close to the water, especially during the summer months. In times of less good weather, I enjoy cooking, reading and DIY work at home. During longer breaks and holidays, I travel to various destinations around the world.”
After completing my commercial apprenticeship, I continued my training in human resources. For over 10 years, I’ve been working in this field, applying my expertise at Evatec in Trübbach since 2023. As an HR Assistant, I oversee the entire administration, with a focus on managing our HR software. My responsibilities include handling entries and exits, certificates, accidents, illnesses, and more. I appreciate the collaborative environment with my colleagues, the diverse tasks, and the autonomy I enjoy at Evatec. Working in HR, I find fulfillment in connecting with people, understanding their needs, and supporting their professional growth. Outside of work, I love traveling and spending weekends exploring different cities and countries.
I am originally from Mexico where I worked in the automotive industry for 7 years and moved to Switzerland for new career opportunities. I recently joined Evatec as a project leader for special initiatives within the Operational Excellence team. I lead change management efforts and ensure smooth transitions. By coordinating various working groups, I foster cross-functional collaboration. I am passionate about introducing new methodologies and systems to optimize processes, while aligning our work with organizational goals. Evatec's dynamic environment and friendly colleagues make it an exciting place to work. Outside of work, I enjoy connecting with nature - whether it's a walk along the river, a weekend hike, or a leisurely bike ride. And of course, spending time with friends and family over delicious meals and lively gatherings is a must.
