Each year we hold a “Future Day” at our headquarters in Switzerland where young people can get to know the workplace of their parents and relatives or their godparents and the kinds of jobs they do. At this year’s event we hosted 20 young people from grades 5-7.
In the morning, the children were given a tour of the company to get a feel for the work of our apprentices. Working alongside mechanical engineers, physics laboratory technicians, automation technicians/automation fitters and logistics technicians they experienced the various activities along the value chain in our company, all the way from initial product design to final shipment once machines are manufactured in our assembly hall. After some well earned snacks our visitors got to test their skills and have some fun assembling a model solar car which they could take home afterwards.
A big thank you goes to all the apprentices and vocational trainers involved who helped make the day a great success.
